About this site

+ Welcome to my directory of images and other multimedia elements that I wish to save to review at later times; often serving as a manifold of inspiration.

+ My name is Ian, feel free to ask any questions you wish.

“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery—celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: ‘It’s not where you take things from—it’s where you take them to.’”

Bon Iver has posted a new video on the band’s YouTube page featuring frontman Justin Vernon and drummer Sean Carey performing five of the group’s songs on dueling grand pianos. The video was shot at the stunning AIR Studio’s Lyndhurst Hall in London and show Vernon and Carey facing each other on opposing pianos as they work through stripped bare versions of “Hinnom, TX,” “Wash.,” and “Beth/Rest” from Bon Iver, “Babys” from the Blood Bank EP, and the single “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” (from NPR Music)

This is beautiful.

Stunning. Of course it is. I wouldn’t expect anything less. Best 25 minutes of my day, maybe even my week.

Damn.
